Cam Dobranski Bio: “I want to create great food”

Cam’s passion for cooking sprouted at an early age (13), while working as a short order cook at his uncles 50’s style cafe.  From the cafe to school Cam finished his first year of apprenticeship at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).  Cam was hired by the Hardware Grill in Edmonton, to apprenticed under Canadian renowned chef Larry Stewart.

Completing his second and third year of apprenticeship, Cam graduated at the top of his class, and received the Apprentice of the Year award and a scholarship from NAIT and the Canadian Federation of Chefs & Cooks.  After receiving these honors, Cam was asked to join the Culinary Team NAIT/Student Team Alberta.  The team went to Erfurt, Germany and won a Culinary Olympic gold metal representing Canada.  This food competition is held every four years.  It is the best of the best in the world. With this experience Cam went back to work as first cook at the Hardware Grill. When the opportunity to work as chef de partie at The Hotel Engimatt, a four star hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, Cam had to jump for this rare opportunity.
